German Log Drum

German Log Drum is a Kontakt instrument that captures the warm, woody tone of a Schlagwerk 8-note oak log drum in Bb major pentatonic. Each note was sampled at six velocity levels and mapped chromatically across the keyboard, giving you expressive, natural-sounding percussion. Three microphone positions—center, stereo, and room—let you shape the space, while articulations include felt beaters (soft and hard) and hand hits. Buzz rolls, recorded two octaves above the clean hit, add texture and round-robin variation, and percussive hits an octave below expand your creative options. With 1188 samples at 24-bit/44.1 kHz, an advanced scripting engine, and quick-switch articulations, it’s ideal for producers of ambient, cinematic, and world-influenced music looking for a distinctive melodic percussion sound. Requires the full version of Kontakt.
