Drone Flutes

Soundiron’s Drone Flutes is a deeply sampled instrument library capturing six indigenous Central American drone flutes, performed by René Jenkins in a cathedral’s natural reverb. The collection includes double, triple, and quad flutes in wood and clay, each with chromatic articulations like sustains, staccatos, true legato, chirps, swells, trills, and flutters. You also get over 3,000 improvised phrases organized by flute type, tempo, key, and style, playable individually or via a phrase sequencer. Three mic positions—Close, Mid, and Far—let you shape the sound from dry and present to cavernous and cinematic. Ideal for film scoring, game music, atmospheric songwriting, folk, and sound design, this library suits composers and producers seeking organic, breathy woodwind textures with expressive performance control.
