TDR SimuLathe REF

TDR SimuLathe REF is a complete simulation of the vinyl disk mastering process, letting you mix and experiment ‘onto disk’ without risking wasted lacquers or styli. Developed by Tokyo Dawn Labs in collaboration with professional mastering studios, it offers a precise virtual cutting lathe with four configurations, classic mastering filters (highpass, lowpass, elliptical), and extensive metering for groove excursion, width, velocity, and gain on disk. Three physically modelled turntable pickups let you monitor and create shareable test cuts, while a groove microscope and heatmaps reveal the physical groove in detail. Multi-side/multi-disk support and HTML project reports help you plan full releases. It’s not an auto-mastering tool but a laboratory for curious producers, students, and mastering engineers who want hands-on insight into the compromises and remedies of turning music into physical grooves.
