1176 Classic Limiter Collection

The 1176 Classic Limiter Collection from Universal Audio brings the legendary FET compressor to your DAW, offering three distinct revisions: the Rev A ‘Bluestripe’ with its raw, distorted character; the Rev E ‘Blackface’ with a cleaner, more linear response; and the rare 1176AE 40th Anniversary Edition with exclusive mods including a 2:1 ratio. Known for its ultra-fast attack and punchy, aggressive sound, the 1176 is a go-to for vocals, drums, bass, and guitars—adding presence and control without sacrificing attitude. Its simple Input, Output, Attack, and Release controls make it easy to dial in everything from subtle compression to all-out limiting, while the famous ‘All Button’ mode delivers iconic coloration. Whether you’re a hobbyist or seasoned producer, this collection delivers authentic analog vibe for any mix.
