VCV Rack v2.2.3 is a free standalone modular synthesizer for Windows that brings Eurorack-style patching to your computer. It suits hobby producers learning synthesis, sound designers building custom instruments, and musicians exploring generative melodies and rhythms. Connect modules to shape sounds, process live audio, or develop performances that evolve as you adjust the patch.

More than 30 included modules cover the essentials, while the VCV Library offers over 2,000 modules for expanding your setup. Polyphonic cables, module presets, and full patch recall make it practical to revisit complex ideas without rebuilding every connection. Audio and CV input/output support hardware integration, and polyphonic MIDI provides additional control options.

For larger patches, the module browser includes zoom, favorites, and sorting. You can also save and share groups of modules, while adjustable room brightness makes nighttime sessions more comfortable. Version 2.2.3 improves pasted module placement and fixes missed MIDI input at small audio block sizes.

This edition runs separately from FL Studio, Ableton Live, or other DAWs. DAW plugin operation requires Rack Pro; hosting VST instruments and effects inside Rack requires the separately purchased VCV Host.
