Bus Compressor

The Bus Compressor from IK Multimedia is a meticulous emulation of the classic British VCA mix bus compressor from the 80s. It delivers the coveted “glue effect,” blending instruments into a cohesive mix that sounds like music. Use it on your DAW’s mix bus for subtle 1.5:1 compression that makes mixes shine, or push higher ratios for pumping, punchy drum rooms and parallel compression. The added Grit switch introduces 2nd harmonic distortion for a more characterful, out-of-calibration tone, while the sidechain high-pass filter prevents low-end pumping. Whether you’re mixing loud rock or slamming dance tracks, this compressor imparts a legendary cohesiveness. It’s ideal for hobby producers seeking that polished, professional mix bus sound.
