Opto Compressor

The Opto Compressor from IK Multimedia is an analog-modeled optical compressor plugin that recreates the smooth, musical gain reduction of classic opto circuits. Its electro-optical attenuator and photoconductive cell respond to signal level with a natural, program-dependent movement, delivering clean, distortion-free compression without added coloration. This gentle yet effective character makes it ideal for vocals, where it tames dynamics while preserving detail and emotion. It also works beautifully on bass, acoustic instruments, and full mixes where transparent, steady control is needed. Hobby producers using FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic will appreciate how easily it sits on any track, adding polish without obvious pumping or artifacts. Whether you’re tracking a vocal or smoothing a bus, the Opto Compressor offers that sought-after optical sound—warm, unobtrusive, and effortlessly musical—making it a versatile tool for any project studio.
