Abstract Marimba

Abstract Marimba by Karanyi Sounds is a Kontakt instrument that blends acoustic percussion with synth-enhanced textures. Built from an Adams Concert Marimba recorded in Budapest, it delivers bright, transient-rich hits and flowing tremolo beds for electronic tracks, jazz arrangements and film scores. Soft, medium and hard mallets, alongside hand and brush techniques, provide varied tones for rhythmic patterns and atmospheric passages. Close and mid microphone mixes let you shape the recorded character, while analogue synth sublayers sampled from Oberheim and Dave Smith instruments add weight and colour. The collection includes 50 presets: 24 traditional marimba sounds and 26 soundscapes. MIDI-learnable controls cover envelopes, EQ, tape, chorus, reverb and compression. Suited to producers and composers seeking both natural mallet sounds and contemporary layered percussion, Abstract Marimba is designed for Kontakt 5.7.3 or later.
