Analog Obsession : BESURE-N87 [FREE]

Analog Obsession BESURE-N87 is a free microphone emulation effect designed to give recordings made with Type 57 or Type 58 dynamic microphones the modeled character of a vintage Type 87 condenser. It is intended specifically for those two dynamic mic types, rather than as a general-purpose processor for any microphone.

The controls let you balance the original recording against the emulated sound. DIRECT adjusts the level of the unprocessed microphone signal, while EMULATION sets how much of the modeled condenser character is heard. OUTPUT controls the plugin’s final level. This layout lets you compare the two signals or blend them to suit the recording.

BESURE-N87 is aimed at home producers who already record with a Type 57 or 58 and want to explore a different microphone character inside their DAW. The listed plugin formats are AAX Native, AU and VST2, though availability may vary by download. Windows users should check for a compatible VST2 or AAX build; AU is not a Windows plugin format.
