Rare v6.0 is a free Pultec-style EQ from Analog Obsession, designed for producers who want broad tonal shaping with analog-style saturation. It combines low-frequency boost and attenuation with high-frequency boost, a separate high attenuation frequency selector, and an output level control.

Its defining feature is a switchable gain stage that can sit before or after the EQ section. In post-EQ mode, frequency boosts feed the gain stage, affecting its saturation and compression response, particularly in the low end. Moving the stage before the EQ lets you shape the tone without those EQ moves changing how hard the gain stage is driven. This offers a useful alternative when you want low-end weight or brighter highs with more consistent harmonic coloration.
