Analog Obsession dBComp is a free compressor/limiter for controlling drum dynamics in studio sessions or live setups. It also works on acoustic guitar, electric guitar and bass when you want a snappier response. For hobby producers shaping individual tracks, it provides compression controls alongside dry/wet blending and external sidechain support.

Threshold determines how much compression is applied, while the Compression control sets the ratio. Attack and release are program-dependent rather than fixed: the listed attack response ranges from 15 ms at 10 dB to 3 ms at 30 dB, and release ranges from 8 ms at 1 dB to 400 ms at 50 dB. A high-pass filter covers 20–500 Hz, and the Mix knob lets you combine processed and unprocessed audio for parallel compression.

EXT-SC enables an external sidechain input. Clicking the Analog Obsession label activates 4x oversampling, with a red label indicating that it is enabled. Windows formats include VST and VST3 for compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live; the Mac version also includes AU for Logic Pro.
