Analog Obsession HLQSE v4.0 is a free Type 69-style EQ plugin for producers who want separate boost and cut controls rather than a conventional all-purpose equalizer. Its discrete bands let you apply boosts and cuts simultaneously, making it useful for hobby musicians shaping individual tracks or balancing a mix.

The low section pairs a fixed 50 Hz cut with selectable boosts at 60, 100, 200 or 300 Hz. In the midrange, separate boost and cut controls offer eight frequency choices from 700 Hz to 6 kHz. At the top end, a fixed 10 kHz band provides up to 15 dB of boost and 6 dB of attenuation. Low and mid controls reach 15 dB in their respective directions, while the output trim offers ±15 dB for level adjustment.

Version 4.0 includes revised circuit processing, reduced CPU usage, parameter readouts and switchable 4x oversampling, activated through the Analog Obsession logo. Windows users get VST and VST3 support for compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live; Mac formats also include AU for Logic Pro.
