Analog Obsession OSS v6.0 is a free 176-style compressor for producers who want fast dynamics control with flexible sidechain shaping. It suits home-studio mixing in FL Studio, Ableton Live and other compatible hosts, with a dry/wet mix control for blending compressed and untreated audio directly inside the plugin.

The internally compensated input offers up to 60 dB of gain, while the output ranges from -30 to +30 dB. Attack settings span 0.1–2 ms, release runs from 27–572 ms, and four ratios—2:1, 4:1, 8:1 and 12:1—provide different levels of compression.

The detector section lets you adjust which frequencies influence the compressor’s response. It includes a 20–500 Hz high-pass filter, adjustable mid-frequency emphasis and high-frequency compression control. External sidechain support allows another signal to trigger compression. Switchable interstage transformers and optional 4x oversampling provide further processing choices.

Version 6.0 adds a resizable interface and AAX support. On Windows 10–11, OSS is available in VST3 and AAX formats; macOS versions also include AU for hosts such as Logic Pro.
