Soundiron Ancient Greek Strings brings seven reconstructed historical string instruments into your productions: Barbiton, Cithara, Lyre, Goat Horn Lyre, Pandura, Phorminx and Trigonon. Handcrafted in Athens by Panagiotis Stefos of Lyravlos and recorded by John Valasis, these wood, gut and goatskin instruments offer acoustic textures with audible links to modern harps, guitars and zithers. Use them for period-inspired scores, folk arrangements, atmospheric soundtracks or distinctive layers in electronic tracks. Each string was captured with eight round-robins and four dynamic velocity levels, giving repeated notes variety and performances expressive detail. Independent close and overhead microphone positions let you shape the perspective, while chromatic and special-effect articulations expand your playing options. A further 20 sound-designed ambiences turn the acoustic recordings into textural material. With 15,158 24-bit samples, this library suits composers and producers seeking unusual acoustic colors grounded in historical craftsmanship.
