The APU Loudness Compressor is a dynamics processor that uses LUFS and True Peak measurements to drive its compression curve, rather than the usual RMS or peak detection. This makes it especially transparent, which suits mastering and post-production work. It can also operate in traditional RMS and Peak modes, so you can switch between modern and classic behavior. Instead of threshold and ratio, the default controls use source and target ranges, but you can enable threshold/ratio if you prefer. A learn mode automatically adjusts the source or target range to match incoming audio, giving you a quick starting point. The detection circuit supports momentary LUFS (400 ms), short-term LUFS (3 s), RMS (300 ms), True Peak, and Peak, with optional channel linking or splitting for multichannel formats. A drop-down menu lets you switch between compressor, expander, limiter, and other modes. It runs on Windows in FL Studio, Ableton Live, and Logic, and is aimed at hobby producers who want precise, loudness-aware dynamics control.
