TrueGain is an equal-loudness compensated gain control plugin that helps you preserve the perceived tonal balance of your mix as you change monitoring levels. Its Compensated Gain Control presets automatically adjust frequency response when you move the gain dial, while Translation Check presets let you hear how your mix will sound at different loudness levels without touching your monitor or headphone volume. This makes it easy to check whether bass holds up or vocals turn harsh in quieter listening situations. The frequency compensation uses FIR filters based on ISO 226:2023 and ISO 226:2003 equal-loudness contours, plus a classic Fletcher-Munson option for a vintage character. You can choose linear or minimum phase filters, and all gain and spectral changes are smoothed with configurable times to avoid artifacts during automation. A real-time spectrum analyzer offers adjustable FFT sizes, window types, time averaging, and linear, logarithmic, or musical note scales.
