Arturia Pure SUB is a bass synthesizer for electronic music producers building 808s, deep subs, wide Reese sounds, and gritty bass patches. Its three-layer design separates the fundamental, harmonic body, and texture, letting you shape weight and character without treating the entire sound as one block.

The Sub layer gives you independent pitch, phase, and level control. Sub Regen restores a clean, phase-stable fundamental after processing, helping retain a consistent low end while the rest of the patch gets distorted or heavily effected. For harmonic content, choose Pressure with its custom waveform editor or Reese for dense unison tones. The Texture layer adds noise-based detail and additional tonal sources.

Sound shaping includes over 40 filter modes, a 33-mode Sub Processor, and a 12-slot effects rack with 18 effects to choose from. Flexible modulation, a dedicated pitch envelope, and four assignable macros support everything from punchy attacks to evolving movement. With 300 factory presets and in-app tutorials, it suits hobby producers who want starting points as well as deeper bass design. Windows formats include VST3 and AAX, alongside a standalone application.
