AutoTonic – AutoTonic Player x32 VST WiN OSX [free]

AutoTonic Player is a free standalone MIDI modal transposer for Windows and Mac. Instead of playing chords or scales manually, you load a mapping and play only the white keys; the black keys switch between different tonic and scale combinations. This lets you explore modal transposing with any number of intervals per octave, and the free version includes a fixed selection of famous and custom-made scales labeled with emojis for quick recognition. Setup is straightforward: create a virtual MIDI port, route it through the MIDI I/O settings, and set that port as the only input in your DAW. Press the spacebar to power the app on or off. No authorization or time limits are required. It is aimed at hobby producers and composers using FL Studio, Ableton Live, or Logic who want an easy way to experiment with modal harmony and scale-based MIDI transformations without complex theory.
