BACKMASK by Freakshow Industries is a chaotic reverse effect that turns sections of incoming audio into backward textures, rhythmic interruptions and unpredictable edits. Use it to scramble drum loops, twist vocal phrases or push melodic material into stranger territory. Reversals can be triggered at millisecond intervals, DAW-synced musical values or by input level, giving you several ways to connect the effect to your track. Choose whether every trigger, alternating triggers or random triggers reverse the audio, then set the length of the reversed segments. BACKMASK runs with zero latency by default, while its Time Align mode introduces substantial latency for a different approach to reversal timing. It suits producers who enjoy experimental sound design, glitchy arrangements and happy accidents, whether you want occasional backward accents or a more disruptive transformation.
