Bass Rider

Bass Rider by Waves is a level-riding plugin that keeps your bass consistently present without the side effects of heavy compression. Instead of squashing dynamics, it automatically adjusts gain in real time to maintain a steady target level, preserving the attack, tone, sustain, and natural feel of your bass. This makes it ideal for smoothing out uneven performances from players with inconsistent touch, or for keeping programmed bass lines locked in. Because it uses no dynamics processing, the sound stays pristine and punchy—no squashed transients or altered character. It works in the studio and live, with zero latency, and can even write an automation track you can fine-tune afterward. If you struggle to get a stable bass mix, Bass Rider offers a reliable, transparent solution that lets the low end anchor your track without the guesswork.
