Cassette Mallets.01 for Ableton

Cassette Mallets.01 by THEPHONOLOOP brings cassette-worn bells and mallets into Ableton with three sampled instruments built from physical modeling and FM synthesis. Recorded through an old, unstable cassette recorder, the sounds suit vintage-inspired melodies, atmospheric chords and offbeat textures. Each instrument covers E2–E6 with three velocity layers, while simulated round robin adds variation to repeated notes. A simple, single-page interface keeps sound shaping accessible: adjust sample start by hand or with the mod wheel to soften attacks, drop the pitch an octave, or explore reverse and mono modes. The samples are denoised to prevent hiss building up across chords, with a separate noise control for adding texture back on your terms. With 31 Ableton Instrument Racks and custom Effect Racks, it suits producers who want playable mallet tones with character and room for experimentation.
