Glitchmachines Cataract 2 is a sample-based instrument for building fractured rhythms, evolving textures and experimental electronic sounds. Rather than triggering fixed slice markers, its two dual sample scanners follow your DAW’s clock and scan segments from up to four audio files. Sequencers, modulation and effects reshape those fragments into anything from subtle percussion to dense, generative glitch patterns. The XMOD section blends and morphs the two scanner outputs, with movement controlled by its dedicated LFO, parameter sequencing or DAW automation. A multi-mode filter, delay and an FX module with its own sequencer offer further sound-shaping options, while extensive randomization tools encourage unexpected results. With a scalable interface, curated sample bank and 100 factory presets, Cataract 2 suits electronic producers and adventurous sound designers who want to explore rhythmic sample manipulation beyond conventional slicing.
