RPS-1 is a Windows-only VST plugin that turns a familiar step-sequencer layout into a tool for generating evolving percussion patterns. Instead of simply switching steps on or off, you assign each step a probability, so hits occur with a set likelihood rather than every pass. That makes it easy to create subtle random variations—ghost notes, alternate hits, and shifting grooves—without manually editing patterns. The plugin also sends MIDI output, so you can route its triggers to another instrument or sampler and use it as a generative rhythm brain. It is aimed at hobby producers working in FL Studio, Ableton Live, or similar Windows DAWs who want quick, organic-sounding percussion sequences. The interface follows standard step-sequencer conventions, keeping the learning curve low. At around 7 MB, it is a lightweight addition to a plugin folder. No macOS version is available.
