Demucs v4 separates mixed music into individual stems, giving hobby producers a way to isolate vocals, drums, bass and other parts for closer listening or further production work. This download is a small text installation guide, not a VST plugin or the Demucs application itself. It walks through setting up the source-separation software on Windows or macOS.

Demucs processes audio locally using your computer’s CPU or GPU. Its default htdemucs model produces four stems: bass, drums, vocals and everything else. For users prioritising separation quality over speed, htdemucs_ft offers a higher-quality option but takes around four times as long to process. The experimental htdemucs_6s model expands the output to six stems by separating guitar and piano alongside bass, drums, vocals and other material.

The guide is useful for producers who want to prepare separated audio for projects in FL Studio, Ableton Live or another DAW, rather than run a separation effect inside a plugin slot. The supplied compatibility information lists Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11, plus macOS 10.10 or later.
