Devicemeister Stepic is a polyphonic MIDI step sequencer for producers who want to build note patterns and evolving parameter movements together. Alongside its note sequencing tools, it provides eight integrated modulation sequencers for controlling settings such as filter cutoff, wavetable position and effect amount on compatible synthesizers and effects.
Each modulation sequence can run at a different tempo and length, making Stepic useful for layered rhythms and polyrhythmic changes that unfold over time. More than 200 random generators offer additional ways to explore pattern variations when you want a different starting point.
Parameter control uses MIDI CC messages, allowing Stepic to address both software plug-ins and external hardware. Your DAW must support routing the MIDI CC output to the intended device, so checking your host’s routing options is important before setting up modulation.
