Elsita is a free plugin emulation of a Soviet-era analog drum synthesizer built between 1989 and 1991 by RMIF. Despite its late release, the hardware followed older mid-70s/early-80s design principles: fully analog circuitry, trigger-only operation, and large tactile knobs. The plugin recreates this four-channel drum machine, where each channel shares the same parameter set but is not perfectly identical. On the original unit, the channels follow an A/B/A/B tonal disposition, a quirk that is reflected in the emulation. This gives you four variations of the same drum voice, useful for creating subtle differences between hits. Each channel offers the same controls, so you can shape pitch, decay, and tone to taste. Elsita is aimed at hobby producers and electronic music makers who want raw, characterful analog drum sounds with a vintage Soviet flavor. It runs as AU on macOS and VST on Windows, making it compatible with FL Studio, Ableton Live, and Logic Pro. At just 5 MB, it is a lightweight addition to any drum production setup.
