DSK – Strings x32 VST WiN [free]

DSK Strings x32 is a free virtual instrument plugin for Windows that brings a compact collection of bowed string sounds to your DAW. It covers the core orchestral family — cello, contrabass, viola and violin — and is built around two sample layers with 22 available waveforms. You can shift the register with an octave selector and fine-tune the tuning using the micro-detuner, which helps when blending strings with other instruments or creating slightly detuned, ensemble-style textures. A delay and flanger are included for shaping the tone without reaching for extra plugins, and MIDI automation lets you control parameters over time in your project. The interface is straightforward, and the 31 MB size keeps the download light. It suits hobby producers working in FL Studio, Ableton or Logic who need basic string parts for pop, electronic, cinematic or background arrangements. Because it is a sample-based instrument rather than a synthesizer, it works best for simple melodic lines, pads and layering rather than detailed orchestral mockups.
