Enso by Audio Damage is a creative looper effect for building evolving textures, layered phrases and tape-inspired soundscapes. Its independent record and playback heads let you capture audio at one speed and direction while playing it back at another, opening up unusual overdubs and shifting rhythmic patterns. Record up to 10 minutes of stereo audio at 48kHz, then divide your loop into four sectors with separate start and end points and crossfade between them. Tape-style saturation and hiss add character, while high-pass and low-pass filters and stereo chorus help shape the tone. Choose traditional digital overdubbing or feed effects and speed changes back into the loop for more experimental results.
