Escalator

Escalator by Black Salt Audio combines compression, saturation and distortion in a one-knob effect designed to give sounds more weight and presence. Its range moves from subtle warmth to assertive grit, making it useful when a part feels thin, flat or too polite in the mix. At lighter settings, saturation adds body and thickness without pushing the sound into obvious distortion. Turn it further for compression and gentle breakup that bring out character and depth. At the more aggressive end, clipping distortion helps sounds cut through while keeping harshness in check. Try it on drums that need extra impact, bass that needs more substance or individual parts that could use a rougher edge. Escalator suits producers who want quick tonal changes and a straightforward way to explore anything from gentle coloration to heavier destruction.
