Quentin is a free hybrid subtractive synthesizer for Windows that focuses on rhythmic movement. Its three independent oscillators each combine a wavetable and a pad layer, with dedicated filters, EQ, character and unison controls, plus analog-style dirt. The standout feature is a chord-aware arpeggiator with 999 built-in seeded patterns that can be switched or randomized on the fly; it detects the chord you play and spreads the arp notes across the held keys, with octave jumps and a ‘ply’ function for busier sequences. A 32-step trance gate adds rhythmic gating with adjustable time, smoothing and step count. Nine motorized LFOs can directly modulate key parameters, either freely or synced to your DAW’s BPM. Six built-in effects, mono mode with portamento and a resizable GUI round it out. Quentin suits hobby producers working in FL Studio, Ableton or Logic on Windows who want evolving polyrhythmic patterns and hands-on modulation without a complex setup.
