FIELD RECORDING: Staircase Xylophone

FIELD RECORDING: Staircase Xylophone by KLANG turns an everyday staircase into an unconventional percussion instrument. Inspired by the rich sound of hands drumming on wooden stairs, it combines those recorded knocks with a xylophone and a touch of distortion. The result brings together woody impact, pitched percussion and a roughened edge that moves beyond a traditional xylophone sound.

Use it to add an unusual rhythmic detail to electronic tracks, build playful melodic patterns or introduce an organic accent into more experimental arrangements. Its found-sound origins make it especially appealing to producers who enjoy turning ordinary noises into musical ideas. For hobbyists looking beyond familiar instrument choices, Staircase Xylophone offers a distinctive meeting point between field recording and wood percussion.
