FilterField by Rob Papen is a creative filter effect built around four filter modules and an expressive XY pad. It offers 32 analog-modeled filter types, including comb, vowel, EQ, all-pass, and phaser filters, plus special modes like ring modulation and frequency shifting. A distortion module with 21 types can be placed before or after the filters. In Vector mode, the XY pad blends between the four filters and can morph multiple parameters at once, with tempo-synced recording and playback. Parallel and serial routing, an audio follower, LFOs, a modulation matrix, a gater, and a stereo tape delay expand its sound-shaping potential. It excels at animated filter sweeps, rhythmic textures, and evolving FX for electronic and experimental music.
