Mango is a modular sound glitcher and mangler that works as a step sequencer for effects. It offers up to eight lanes, each with its own effect, and you draw blocks on a lane’s strip to determine when that effect is active. While the playhead is inside a block, the effect processes; outside, the lane is transparent. The lanes stack into a chain from top to bottom, so you can paint when each effect happens in time with your host. The character comes from seeded randomness: rhythmic rates are weighted probabilities, and the actual rate is drawn per block. Every draw is a pure function of the seed, lane, and block, so patterns play back identically in real time and offline bounce. Changing the seed re-rolls everything at once. To get started, insert Mango on a track with audio (it’s an effect, not an instrument), drag across a lane to draw a block, press play, and click a block to edit its effect knobs or use the override field to retune that block with text. Change effects via dropdown, reorder lanes with arrows, and use mute/solo. Adjust Seed, Steps, and step size to shape the grid. Ideal for hobby producers exploring rhythmic glitching and mangling.
