GForce Software M-Tron Pro IV is a Mellotron M400 software instrument that brings the character of tape-based keyboards into a modern production setup. It suits producers working on progressive rock, indie, lo-fi and hip-hop, as well as anyone looking for vintage keyboard textures with adjustable tape movement.
The instrument offers a 3.5 GB sound library with over 200 tape banks and more than 800 presets. Separate preset and tape-bank browsers help you find starting points, while a scalable interface and undo, redo, copy and paste functions make editing more practical.
Sound-shaping options include tape wow and flutter, amp simulation, an alternative state-variable filter, ensemble processing and matrix reverb. Updated LFO shaping adds modulation flexibility, while expanded velocity and polyphonic aftertouch controls support expressive playing. The keyboard range also extends seven semitones lower.
Available for Windows in VST2, VST3 and AAX formats, plus a standalone application, M-Tron Pro IV fits compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live. It is a useful choice for adding Mellotron-style tones without maintaining a physical tape keyboard.
