Glitchmachines Cataract 2 is a sample-based instrument for electronic producers and experimental sound designers who want to build shifting percussion, fragmented textures and intricate glitch patterns. Instead of triggering fixed slice markers within one recording, it follows your DAW’s clock and scans sections of up to four audio files across two dual-sample scanner modules.

Each scanner’s output can be reshaped with sequencing, modulation and effects before reaching the XMOD section, where the two signals are blended or morphed. Modulate that blend with its dedicated LFO, program it with the Global Parameter Sequencer, or control it through DAW automation to create movement between layers.

Scan sequencers, an independently sequenced FX module, a multi-mode filter, delay and dynamics processing provide several ways to shape rhythm and tone. Randomization tools help explore variations, while the included sample bank and 100 factory presets offer starting points for new patches. A scalable interface keeps the controls adaptable to different screen setups.

This Windows version supports 64-bit VST3 hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live. It requires Windows 10 or later, at least 4 GB RAM, an Intel i5-equivalent CPU and approximately 1.5 GB of disk space.
