Based on a Japanese BOSS HM-2 pedal from 1984, it captures the aggressive, high-gain character associated with crushing metal riffs. It suits guitarists and producers looking for vintage stompbox grit, particularly when building abrasive rhythm tones or adding weight to heavy arrangements. Separate Low and High tone controls work alongside Distortion and Level knobs to shape the bite and body of your sound. Pre- and post-effect gain controls help manage levels, while the Mix control blends the processed signal with the original. A noise gate helps tame unwanted noise, and nine circuit types offer additional tonal options. Distortion bypass is available by right-clicking the Dist knob, and the resizable interface keeps the controls comfortable to use.
