Soundiron’s Alt Alt captures a unique 16-string board zither where twelve strings share one pitch and four sit an octave above, all positioned to ring together as a single composite tone. You choose notes with 36 spring-mounted steel bars, pressing them against the strings to change their effective length, then strum or hammer the bars to sound them. The library offers slow strums, fast strums, and hammer-down articulations across two stereo mic positions (Close and Pickups), with up to 8x round robin and 6 velocity layers for rich, organic chorusing. The Kontakt interface provides swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch, articulation switching, crossfading, layering, and an adaptable LFO system.
