Ignite Amps ProF.E.T. is a free guitar distortion plugin that recreates the company’s hardware preamp and stompbox design from 2018. Built around modeled JFET gain stages, it produces high-gain, tube-style saturation with a strong harmonic character. It suits guitarists and home producers who want aggressive distortion with flexible tone control, whether used as a preamp or placed before a clean amplifier.

A four-control tone stack and Shape switch provide two tonal modes for adjusting the character of the distortion. Global input and output controls let you manage levels around the processing, while selectable oversampling up to 8x gives you an additional processing-quality option.

ProF.E.T. supports both mono and stereo signals and uses double-precision, 64-bit floating-point calculations in its modeling engine. Every control can be automated, making it possible to change settings throughout a track. The built-in preset manager also supports bank import and export, so you can organize your sounds and transfer collections of settings between projects.
