Inphonik RX1200 is a sampler instrument that brings the grainy character of the E-mu SP-1200 into a DAW-based workflow. Aimed at hip-hop beatmakers, lo-fi producers and anyone who likes reshaping samples, it combines 12-bit processing at 26.041 kHz with input amplifier modeling and a switchable SSM2044-style resonant low-pass filter. Pitching sounds down introduces the distinctive aliasing associated with the original hardware.
You can arrange sounds across 32 sample slots, organized into four banks of eight pads. The visual editor lets you trim, normalize, reverse and loop samples without destructive edits, while tuning, decay, level and panning controls help each sound sit in a beat. Stereo and mono playback, chromatic playing and unrestricted sample length give you room to work with drums, bass notes or longer musical phrases.
RX1200 leaves sequencing to your host rather than including an onboard sequencer. Eight assignable outputs support separate processing and mixing. For a starting point, the included library supplies more than 900 samples across 50 presets, covering drums, percussion, bass, keys, effects and slices.
