midiKeyboard is a free, lightweight VST plugin that gives you a fully resizable on-screen piano keyboard for monitoring and playing MIDI notes. You can adjust the key width to fit your screen, set the MIDI channel, and play notes using either your mouse or your computer’s QWERTY keyboard. Shift-clicking sets the QWERTY octave, and if you enable the optional Y-position velocity mode, clicking higher or lower on a key changes how hard the note plays. Toggle mode turns keys into switches instead of momentary buttons, working with mouse, MIDI input, and QWERTY input alike. Middle-click or Ctrl-click stops all playing notes, and right-click toggles a key on or off (or acts as momentary when Toggle mode is active). You can hide the editing controls to show only the keyboard, and Alt-clicking keys switches between views. It loads default settings from an FXB file. This utility is ideal for hobby producers using FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic who want a quick visual keyboard for testing sounds or sketching melodies without hardware.
