Instinct

Instinct by Inertia Sound Systems combines distortion, dynamics processing and tone shaping in a flexible audio effect. Its transistor and tube models move from gentle saturation and rounded warmth to aggressive drive, noisy textures and extreme sound design. Run one or two drive circuits in series, switch modules in or out, and smoothly morph circuit models and parameters to explore different characters. The SCULPT transient shaper modulates circuit parameters according to the incoming signal, with an optional external sidechain for additional control. Analogue-modelled resonant filters add internal saturation and self-oscillation, while 4x or 8x oversampling supports high-quality processing. With presets covering subtle enhancement through wild transformations, Instinct suits producers who want both practical mixing tools and an experimental distortion playground.
