kawaChord2 is a free MIDI chorder plugin for Windows and macOS that helps you build chord tones without knowing every note in every chord. It offers four editing modes: Simple, Circle of Fifth, and two Chord Analysis modes. You press a chord name button and the plugin sends the corresponding MIDI notes as chord tones. Diatonic chords are highlighted based on the key and root you set, making it easy to stay in key. You can also place chords directly onto DAW tracks as MIDI clips, though this feature is confirmed only for Studio One, Reaper, and Bitwig Studio. Version 2.05 adds a step sequencer for chord tones, while 2.10 introduces chord progression mode and a search-chords-from-scale feature in Advanced Mode. The free version is limited to triad chords. It is ideal for hobby producers who want to quickly audition chords, sketch progressions, or enter chord tones in FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic without deep music theory knowledge.
