DopeSONIX LoFi is a virtual instrument for producers who prefer dusty textures and worn-in character to polished, modern presets. Its collection of over 200 sounds brings together sampled pads, chopped vocals, real-world recordings and unusual leads, shaped through an MPC60 MKII, Fostex M80 reel-to-reel and analog outboard effects. The result is a palette of gritty, atmospheric tones for old-school hip-hop, chillhop, ambient, electronica and cinematic tracks. The first 50 presets focus on the distinctive 12-bit character of the Akai MPC60 MKII, while the collection also explores processed analog and acoustic material. Rather than hunting through bright synth patches for something suitably rough around the edges, you can start with sounds built around that aesthetic. LoFi suits beatmakers and composers looking to add warmth, haze and a little imperfection to their productions.
