Mercury Lite by Wavesfactory is a sampled grand piano instrument built around a Fazioli F228 recorded at London’s Metropolis Studios. Its tone moves from warm, intimate passages to punchy, expressive playing at higher velocities, making it a versatile choice for ballads, cinematic cues and piano-led productions. Designed for producers and keyboard players who want a detailed piano with a smaller footprint, Lite combines five microphone positions into a single fixed blend rather than offering separate mic controls. This approach reduces disk usage by 80% and lowers Kontakt’s voice-processing demands compared with the full multi-mic version. Two round-robin repetitions add variation, while the included effects, including Metropolis Plates, provide further tonal shaping. Mercury Lite requires the full version of Kontakt 5.7.3 or later; it runs only in demo mode in the free Kontakt Player.
