Mini Saron

Soundiron Mini Saron turns a tiny Indonesian toy saron into an expressive Kontakt instrument for melodic percussion and atmospheric sound design. Eight metal bars, sampled with mallets and hammers, deliver bright metallic tones for delicate hooks, layered rhythms and unusual accents. Two microphone positions, 10 round robins and up to 10 velocity layers per note provide variation across repeated hits and changing dynamics. Alongside the tuned percussion and upward and downward glissandos, 25 ambience patches explore more textural territory. Shape performances with envelope controls, filters, pitch adjustment and an adaptable LFO, or build moving patterns with the customizable arpeggiator and key-and-scale lock. A modular effects rack and 20 sound-designed FX presets expand the creative options. It suits producers and composers looking for distinctive percussion, shimmering melodic details or evolving backgrounds within a Kontakt-based setup.
