ModSynthMono by D10Labo is a monophonic synthesizer inspired by the EMS SynthiA, Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 and Oberheim Xpander. Its two oscillators offer sine, triangle, saw and variable-width pulse waves, with wave morphing for shifting timbres. Wave folding and waveshaping introduce extra harmonics and aliasing noise, making it a useful choice for gritty basses, sharp leads and experimental textures. Separate 24 dB/oct high-pass and low-pass filters provide cutoff and resonance controls to sculpt the result. For movement, an LFO with six waveform options joins ADR and ADSR envelopes, while an on/off modulation matrix routes sources to oscillator pitch, waveform shape, folding, shaping and filter cutoff. Portamento adds sliding transitions between notes. With a resizable interface and a focused single-voice design, ModSynthMono suits producers who enjoy hands-on synthesis and exploring unusual tones.
