Modular Add-On: Buchla 259e Twisted Waveform Generator

Softube Buchla 259e Twisted Waveform Generator brings an officially licensed recreation of Buchla’s distinctive dual oscillator to Softube Modular. This expansion requires Modular and suits producers who enjoy experimental synthesis, abrasive textures and evolving digital soundscapes. Its Principal and Modulation oscillators work together for complex modulation, or the Modulation oscillator can serve as a separate audible source. Blend between waveshape tables with morph control and reshape the driving waveform with warp modulation to move from smooth, organic tones into metallic growls and piercing digital edges. For less predictable results, Mem Skew mode explores portions of the original operating program, producing noise, sudden silences and unusual shifting timbres. With digital code and wavetables carried over from the hardware alongside component-modeled analog sections, it offers modular enthusiasts a distinctive alternative to conventional oscillator sounds.
