Multiplex Vocoder 3 by Digital Brain Instruments turns microphone input or recorded audio into layered vocoder textures for music production and sound design. This upgrade requires ownership of Multiplex Vocoder 2. Running as a 64-bit standalone application, it hosts VST/AU instruments as carrier signals and processes your source through up to four vocoders simultaneously. Build robotic vocals, animated harmonies and experimental textures, then blend the vocoder layers with the dry signal. The sample editor lets you isolate phrases, adjust playback speed, shift pitch, reverse audio and loop sections. Input-dependent thresholds bring individual layers in or out as the source level changes. A master rack supports three VST/AU plugins alongside pitch and frequency shifting. MIDI control and Autokey accommodate different playing setups, while separate source and layer recording make it useful for producers who want detailed material to arrange and mix in their DAW.
