SR202 is a free VST drum sampler plugin for Windows that lets you load up to 16 WAV or AIFF samples, one per pad, directly from its front panel. It offers 64-voice polyphony with dynamic assignment, four choke groups, and flexible output routing: each pad can go to the stereo output or one of four mono outputs. Sound design is deep for a free tool: every pad has three envelopes (filter, amp, pitch) with adjustable attack and release, plus velocity modulation. A switchable low-pass/high-pass filter and two pre-filter effects—distortion and bitcrusher—are included. You can set parameters per pad or globally, and MIDI CC automation (controllers 75+) lets you tweak pads from hardware. The plugin also supports VST bank load/save for exchanging complete kits between PC and Mac. It ships with at least 15 full drum kits covering standard, analogue, percussive, and experimental sounds.
