Native Instruments Massive X is a wavetable synthesizer for producers and sound designers who want to build detailed electronic sounds, from forceful bass patches to animated textures. This Windows release offers a flexible approach to synthesis, with extensive oscillator shaping, custom signal routing, and modulation you can perform from a keyboard.
The oscillator section includes over 170 wavetables and 10 reading modes, including Gorilla, Hardsync, and Formant options. Each mode provides additional ways to reshape the starting tone, while two phase-modulation oscillators add further movement and complexity.
Rather than keeping every patch on a fixed signal path, Massive X lets you reconnect sections, create feedback routes, and use modulators as audio sources to drive components such as the comb filter. The Performer section lets you draw modulation patterns and assign them to parameters for evolving sounds or carefully timed changes. Remote Octave control makes those patterns playable from your keyboard.
Resizable graphics and selectable skins help fit the interface to your setup. Version 1.4.3 also brings browser improvements and editable user preset tags.
